ÅAC Microtec introduces to the space market the Sirius OBC, a reliable high-performance on-board computer for advanced missions in a nanosatellite form factor design. The Sirius OBC features the real time operating system RTEMS running on a FPGA based soft processor. The combination results in outstanding system availability in the most critical mission phases.

The Sirius products are designed for modularity. A standard single string system consists of an on-board computer (Sirius OBC) and a combined mass memory (Sirius TCM). The OBC runs mission specific software and manages the spacecraft system. The TCM receives and stores payload data and platform housekeeping data while at the same time it distributes telecommands and serves mass memory data to the transceiver. A Sirius data handling system is easily adapted for additional capacity and redundancy by adding modules.
The Sirius OBC enables advanced nanosatellite constellations in LEO and deep space exploration missions thanks to the focus on high reliability, resilience and performance. Fault tolerance is secured through TMR (Triple-Modular Redundancy) on all FPGA flip-flops and through boot flash and error detection and correction (EDAC) on memories. CPDU pulse commands can be used for system reset.
